Womb
The origin,
the beginning,
the innocence
surrounded by sin.
How magical are you
to protect such fragile goods.
What wizardry you possess—
to bear two hearts.
A portal you are,
to carry not just flesh
but spirit,
a breath of life
within you.
How?
No science,
no biology,
no religion.
Pen to paper—
what sorcery
is behind you?
Is this why they hate you?
Why they silence you?
Why they fear you?
Womb,
what are they afraid of?
Mmmm, could it be?
Your power
scares them.
About the Poem
Womb is a poem that reveres the body as both magical and feared, a vessel of creation and a source of societal tension.
