Daughter of the Soil (2025) is a ballpoint pen drawing on A2 paper, framed. This work reflects resilience, identity, and the deep connection between women and the land. It celebrates the strength of African women as nurturers, protectors, and carriers of culture. Through delicate yet precise strokes of the pen, I aimed to capture both vulnerability and quiet power, showing how dignity can coexist with struggle. The title speaks to belonging and rootedness, reminding us of our ties to heritage, community, and the earth itself. With this piece, I hope to invite viewers into a conversation about coexistence, justice, and the value of honoring one’s roots.
