Many of us grew up reciting a simple introduction in crèche and primary school:

 

Myself.

My name is...

I am ... years old.

I live in...

When I grow up I want to be...

 

For many of us, this was the first time we were formally invited to speak ourselves into the world with hope and imagination. Drawing from this familiar childhood recitation, our project reclaims this early act of self-naming as a framework for creative expression and reflection.

 

It creates space to introduce ourselves, on our own terms, and to consider who we are and who we want to become.

 

The works gathered here offer different ways of answering and reimagining these fundamental questions we continue to encounter throughout our lives.
