This body of work, MOTSUMI: A HUNTER, is a series of self-portraiture that explores how ecology shapes my being. Through the use of slow shutter techniques, I allow time to stretch and breathe within the frame, creating images that exist between presence and disappearance. Overexposure floods the image, dissolving edges and softening certainty, suggesting a merging between body and environment.

In these photographs, I am both subject and landscape. My figure becomes porous, absorbing the textures, rhythms, and atmospheres of the natural world. Seasons, weather, and shifting light imprint themselves onto my body, revealing how deeply environment informs my habits, movements, and inner life.

The work is not concerned with documenting what is seen, but rather with expressing an internal dialogue—an ongoing negotiation between self and land. Each image becomes a site of encounter, where I confront the ways in which I am continuously shaped, fragmented, and reassembled by the spaces I inhabit.
